The DM2600 allows you to consider a phased transition, but first you need to separate two tasks: keep consistent communication with older stations and test the new digital scenario on a small group.
Analog and DMR - two modes of operation
Motorola specifies for the DM2600 support for analog and digital communication and alphanumeric display. This is a useful basis for the transition, but not the promise of automatic unification of all subscribers. Having two modes in one device does not in itself make it a gateway between an analog group and a digital one.
Determine who the new machine should talk to in the first phase. For the old park, the general analog scenario, parameters and the procedure for selecting the channel will be agreed. For a digital group, participants, infrastructure, and configuration are separately described. These scenarios are tested separately so that a successful digital call does not hide the loss of communication with the remaining analog machines.
Select a representative first group
The pilot should include people and cars that reflect the usual work: dispatch, field employee, a place with a characteristic noise and real routes. It's not a promise of card coverage. The goal is to understand whether a coordinated solution is right for your job and what parts of existing equipment can be saved.
Before ordering, write down the criteria: who calls whom, what is visible on the display, how to return to the common channel, what accessories the driver uses. Don’t set a non-existent universal range increase “after switching to a digital.” Network coverage and behavior are assessed for specific conditions and composition.
Confirm configuration and installation
The DM2600 has different frequency and power configurations. Requirements for them cannot be collected from the maximum family numbers. Specify the full code of the proposed device, the range of the existing network and the conditions of power supply. Attach photos of the installation site, antenna, power supply and stored connections. Replacing the analogue station with the DM2600 does not automatically mean that all previous microphones, cables and mounts are suitable. Expansion conditions should be determined in advance
After the pilot, it is useful to get not only a review of “sound good”, but also a list of accepted settings, detected restrictions and remaining work. Separately decide what the next batch will be required and whether the analog group is retained. In the quotation, include stations, necessary accessories, configuration preparation and agreed checks. Specify the number now and the expected expansion: this allows you to offer a composition for a real stage, and not sell an extra set for the future.

Will the DM2600 automatically connect analog and digital subscribers?
Support for two modes does not mean an automatic gateway. Communication with the old park and digital work will be coordinated by separate scenarios.
Can I keep an active antenna and power supply?
This is considered by the parameters, condition and documentation of a particular installation, and not by external similarity.
How many stations does a pilot need?
The number is determined by the participants and the tasks being checked. There is no universal number for any company.
