Buying the DM4401 just because the series number is higher is a weak criterion. The DM2600 is more convenient to display the names of working channels, and the DM4401 has a different set of built-in features. For delivery, service machines and production transport, the choice depends on who uses the station and what data the dispatcher needs.

What the driver sees

The driver works with several areas: Warehouse, Service, Dispatch. On the alphanumeric screen DM2600 you can see consistent names, rather than keeping in mind the correspondence of numbers to units. This is useful when changing and transferring the car to another employee. The order of channels and button assignments should be prepared for your organization.

The DM4401 has numerical display and LEDs. It is suitable for simple selection of pre-known channels; there is no full text or color screen. If a person needs to read long tasks directly on the panel, first specify the way they are displayed – the presence of digital communication does not provide this.

When to choose the DM4401

Built-in GPS and Bluetooth make sense for a specific task: get the position of machines in the receiving system or use a coordinated wireless peripheral. The DM2600 does not have such standard modules. For the DM4401, the GPS antenna, accessory compatibility, configuration and data transmission infrastructure are separately agreed upon.

The GPS receiver determines the coordinates, but does not create a map of the fleet. The quotation should indicate the result: what data the existing program receives and through which system. If the company already has a separate car tracker installed, evaluate whether another positioning system is needed or a voice station with a clear screen is enough.

Pre-purchase comparison

In the documents of the manufacturer for the DM2600, there are different memory values: 160 channels in the specification and 256 in the comparative table. If the number of channels is critical, request confirmation on the proposed device and its configuration before ordering.

Price of the work kit

Compare two equally complete statements. The car needs a suitable configuration station, a coordinated microphone, mounting, power supply with protection and antenna facilities. In DM4401-order for coordinates additionally indicate GPS-part and receiving application. The above is not automatically included in the cost of the case.

Range, power configuration and network settings are checked using full code. VHF and UHF do not become compatible from the same Motorola name; switching between analog and DMR also requires a consistent configuration. Include the necessary work and software components in the general calculation in advance.
